With the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague regular season a week away from its conclusion, Olympiacos, Real Madrid, and Barcelona remain close to the top of the standings.
Olympiacos, with 23 wins and 10 defeats, are at top of the standings despite an 87-79 defeat to Crvena Zvezda Meridianbet Belgrade on Thursday in Serbia.
The Greek side will face eighth-place Cazoo Baskonia Vitoria-Gasteiz in the final of the regular season, with emotions running high. The Spanish team is eighth with 18 wins and 15 losses.
The best eight teams will advance to the EuroLeague playoffs that will begin on April 25.
With a 79-67 win over Bayern Munich, Real Madrid jumped to second place with 23 wins and 10 defeats.
The Spanish club will visit sixth-place Maccabi Playtika Tel Aviv on the road.
Barcelona will play against EA7 Emporio Armani Milan and Valencia Basket to end the regular season. Barca are third with 22 wins and 10 losses in the standings.
Monaco are fourth, Fenerbahce Beko fifth, and Partizan Mozzart Bet Belgrade seventh in the Round 33 EuroLeague table.
Ahead of the EuroLeague Regular Season Round 34, Olympiacos, Real Madrid, Barcelona, Monaco, and Maccabi Playtika Tel Aviv guaranteed themselves an appearance in the quarterfinals.
Istanbul’s Fenerbahce Beko remained alive in the race for the 2023 playoffs by beating city rivals Anadolu Efes 103-86 at Ulker Sports And Event Hall.
In the next game, Fenerbahce Beko will visit Crvena Zvezda.
Meanwhile Anadolu Efes, back-to-back EuroLeague champions in 2021 and 2022, exited the playoff race following an away loss.
Zalgiris Kaunas will conclude their regular season with the final game against Bayern Munich.
The Lithuanian side is on the edge of the playoff picture with 18 wins and 15 losses behind eighth-place Cazoo Baskonia.
Despite the defeat to Zalgiris, Maccabi mathematically booked a playoff ticket with a round remaining for the completion of the regular season.
