Norwegian football star Erling Haaland scored five goals in Manchester City’s huge 7-0 win Tuesday against Germany’s RB Leipzig as the English club reached the UEFA Champions League quarterfinals.

Home team Man City’s Haaland was on fire to net five goals, including the opener from a penalty kick.

Manchester City midfielder Ilkay Gundogan scored one goal in the second half and his Belgian teammate Kevin De Bruyne scored a classy goal in injury time to seal a comfortable victory for his team.

The English team won 8-1 on aggregate to qualify for the quarterfinals.

Haaland, who was named the player of the match, became the youngest player to reach 30 Champions League goals.

On Tuesday, Haaland was 22 years and 236 days old to be the record holder in this field as he beat Paris Saint-Germain’s French forward Kylian Mbappe.

Mbappe was 22 years and 352 days old when he tallied 30 Champions League goals.

Haaland also became the fastest player to have scored 30 Champions League goals in terms of the number of games.

The Norwegian international has done it in 25 games to set a record, beating Ruud van Nistelrooy.

The former Manchester United and Real Madrid forward has scored 30 Champions League goals in 34 matches.

A Leipzig defender, Benjamin Henrichs, praised Haaland for his performance against them.

“I have never before lost 7-0 in my career. It’s a brutal and bitter evening for us. Haaland is physically very strong. He has a lot to offer; it is very difficult to defend him,” Henrichs said after the match.

Additionally, Haaland is now the third player to tally five goals in a single Champions League match after Brazilian forward Luiz Adriano (2014) and Argentine superstar Lionel Messi (2012).
