Türkiye’s liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) imports increased by 48.6% to 365,495 tonnes in December 2022 compared to the same month in 2021, according to the latest data from the country’s energy watchdog.
The Energy Market Regulatory Authority’s (EMRA) data showed the country’s imports originated from the US, Algeria, Russia, Nigeria, Kazakhstan, Romania and Norway.
LPG production in December also decreased to 76,971 tonnes, marking a year-on-year decrease of 10.8%.
Additionally, exports rose to around 34,810 tonnes in December, showing an increase of 30.14% compared to the same month last year.
Total LPG sales in December increased by 0.12% to around 356,948 tonnes, comprising 267,900 tonnes of autogas, 40,297 tonnes of bottled LPG and 48,750 tonnes of bulk LPG.
