Türkiye’s daily power consumption down 2.2% on Feb. 17

Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye decreased by 2.2% on Friday compared to the previous day, totaling 903,545 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Saturday.

Hourly power consumption peaked at 43,834 megawatt-hours at 12 a.m. local time (0900 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country’s electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 30,534 megawatt-hours at 5 a.m. local time (0200 GMT).

Electricity production amounted to 889,640 megawatt-hours on Friday, marking a decrease of 2.4% compared to Thursday.

Electricity production from natural gas plants constituted 35.1% of total generation, while imported coal plants and lignite plants contributed 23.4% and 10.6%, respectively.

On Friday, the country’s electricity exports amounted to 6,781 megawatt-hours and imports totaled 20,686 megawatt-hours.
