Türkiye’s daily power consumption up 0.47% on Feb. 3

Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye increased by 0.47% on Friday compared to the previous day, totaling 953,913 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Saturday.

Hourly power consumption peaked at 47,047 megawatt-hours at 12 a.m. local time (0900 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country’s electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 31,398 megawatt-hours at 5 a.m. local time (0200 GMT).

Electricity production amounted to 932,680 megawatt-hours on Friday, marking an increase of 0.47% compared to Thursday.

Electricity production from natural gas plants constituted 33.8% of total generation, while imported coal and lignite plants contributed 24.1% and 14.7%, respectively.

On Friday, the country’s electricity exports amounted to 6,946 megawatt-hours and imports totaled 23,728 megawatt-hours.
