Türkiye’s BIST 100 index starts week with over 5,000 points

ISTANBUL

Türkiye’s benchmark stock index opened at 5,013.16 points on Monday, up by 0.57%, or 28.3 points, from the previous close.

Borsa Istanbul’s BIST 100 index was up by 0.28% to close the last week at 4,984.86, with a daily trading volume of 89.15 billion Turkish liras ($4.74 billion).

The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate was at 18.7889 as of 10.40 a.m. local time (0740GMT), the euro/lira exchange rate stood at 20.3665, while a British pound traded for 22.9890 Turkish liras.

Brent crude oil was selling for around $84.65 per barrel, while the price of an ounce of gold was $1,919.60.
