Spot market electricity prices for Tuesday, Jan. 3

The highest electricity price rate for one megawatt-hour on Türkiye’s day-ahead spot market for Tuesday will be 4,200 Turkish liras between 8 a.m. and 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. (between 0500 – 0700 and 1300 and 1600 GMT), according to official figures on Monday.

The lowest rate was set at 2,600 liras at 4 a.m. (0100 GMT), the data showed.

The Energy Exchange Istanbul (EXIST) data for the trade volume on Monday’s electricity market showed an increase of 8.4% to 2.03 billion liras compared to Sunday.

The arithmetical and weighted average electricity prices on the day-ahead spot market are calculated as 3,621.78 liras and 3,660.18 liras, respectively.

The highest electricity price rate for one megawatt-hour for Sunday was set as 4,200 Turkish liras at 8 a.m., 9 a.m. and between 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. (0500, 0600 and between 1300 and 1500 GMT), while the lowest rate was determined as 1,625.78 liras at 5 a.m. (0200 GMT), according to official figures.

US$1 equals 18.72 liras at 2.56 p.m. local time (1156 GMT) on Monday.
