France’s annual inflation rate was at 6.2% in October, driven by energy and food prices, official figures showed on Tuesday.
According to France’s statistical authority Insee’s data, the annual inflation was up from 5.6% in September.
“This increase in inflation resulted from the acceleration in food prices, energy prices, and manufactured good prices,” it added.
Energy, food, and manufactured goods prices were up by 19.1%, 12%, and 4.2%, respectively, on a yearly basis.
The country’s monthly inflation was at 1%, Insee added.
