3 Central European states pledge to continue international support for Ukraine

PRAGUE

Three Central European countries have pledged their continued international support for Ukraine, warning that if Kyiv loses the war, Russia may attack other countries.

Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawicki, his Czech and Slovakian counterparts Petr Fiala and Eduard Heger, respectively, pledged their continued support for Ukraine in a joint statement issued on Monday, warning that if Kyiv loses the war against Russia, Central Europe could be the next target.

They said: “Ukraine must be supported until Russian forces” withdraw from its territory completely, putting a definitive end to the “Kremlin’s revanchism and imperialism.”

Anything less would be like issuing an open invitation to all “authoritarian lunatics” who believe that it is acceptable to invade their neighbors, they added.

“Now is not the time to lessen in our resolve. We must continue to stand by Ukraine without qualification or reservation,” they said.
