2024 Copa America semifinals to kick off Tuesday in New Jersey

The 2024 Copa America semifinals will begin Tuesday with Argentina against Canada.

The clash will kick off at 0000GMT at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey.

Argentina, the reigning 2021 Copa America and 2022 World Cup champions, advanced to the semifinals after shutting out Canada 2 – 0, Chile 1 – 0, and Peru 2 – 0 in the group stage.

Lionel Scaloni’s men qualified for the semifinal with a penalty shoot-out win against Ecuador 1 – 1 (4 – 2).

Canada started the tournament by being blanked by Argentina 2 – 0 before a shutout win against Peru 1 – 0. They were held to a scoreless draw against Chile to finish second in Group A behind Argentina.

Jesse Marsch’s Canada eliminated Venezuela 4 – 3 on penalty kicks Friday after the quarterfinal match ended 1 – 1.

In the other semifinal match, Uruguay and Colombia will meet at 0000GMT on Wednesday at the Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte, North Carolina.

The final will be played July 14 at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami and the third-place match will be held July 13 at Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Argentina and Uruguay have each won 15 Copa America titles, while Brazil is the only other country with a significant number of wins, having claimed nine trophies.
