The first round of the Romanian presidential elections will take place on May 4, 2025, as reported by the local media on Thursday.
Citing government spokesman Mihai Constantin, state-run Agerpress news agency added that the election period will start on Feb.18, according to the decision that was taken by the government.
Furthermore, Constantin revealed that deadlines and logistical measures are being established regarding the registration of voters with domicile or residence abroad.
He noted that voting abroad will take place over a three-day period, with polling stations closing on May 4 at 9:00 p.m. Romanian time, not at local time, as was the case until now.
