October 5, 2024 4:18 pmDaily electricity consumption in Türkiye decreased by 0.06% on Friday compared to the previous day, totaling 884,632 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of the Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Saturday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 41,905 megawatt-hours at 6 p.m. local time (1500 GMT), data from TEIAS showed.
The country’s electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 29,976 megawatt-hours at 5 a.m. local time (0200 GMT)
Electricity production amounted to 897,703 megawatt-hours on Friday, marking a fall of 0.11% compared to Thursday.
Electricity production from imported coal plants constituted 26.1% of total generation, while natural gas and hydropower plants contributed 20.3% and 15.2%, respectively.
On Friday, the country’s electricity exports amounted to 14,998 megawatt-hours and imports totaled 1,926 megawatt-hours.
